A non-denominational Christian liberal arts college, Crichton began in 1941 as a Bible training center, expanded to a Bible Institute in 1948, and became a four-year Bible College in 1960. Nearly 30 years later, in 1986, Crichton became a liberal arts college.
To reflect its new comprehensive nature and to honor a former president, the college changed its name from Mid-South Bible to Crichton College in 1987. Crichton's mission is to educate students in a Christ-centered liberal arts community to think critically, grow spiritually, and change the world.
Crichton recently moved to a new campus in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee which is a bustling metropolis.
