Overview

The Aspire Award is a need-based supplement to the HOPE Scholarship.

Award Information

  • Four-Year Institutions: Up to $750 per semester as a supplement to the HOPE Scholarship
  • Two-Year Institutions: Up to $250 per semester as a supplement to the HOPE Scholarship

Eligibility

Meet Tennessee HOPE Scholarship requirements AND must have parents’ or independent student’s and spouse’s adjusted gross income of $36,000 or less on IRS tax form.

Application

Students can apply for both the HOPE scholarship and the Aspire supplement by completing the FAFSA. Applications must be received by September 1st for fall semester, March 1st for spring semester and May 1st for summer semester. Early application is recommended.

Termination Criteria

A student may receive the HOPE Scholarship and Aspire Award until the first of the following terminating events:

  • Student has earned an advanced degree; or
  • Five years have passed from the date of initial enrollment at any postsecondary institution
